Planner Certification
Did your church ask you to be their wedding coordinator, and then leave you to figure out the rest ('cause they sure don't know)?
Do you love getting to use your organizational/creative gifts to plan weddings, and wonder what you could do with some actual training?
Are you a hobby planner for friends and family and would love to start a business?
Do you love the Lord, plan weddings, and want to connect the dots to intentionally minister to brides through your business?
I have two courses for you so that after you complete our training time, you'll be certified and confident to move forward in your ministry work of weddings. The important thing you want to figure out first is whether you want to be a coordinator or planner - read the descriptions below carefully, and schedule a discovery call with me if you want to discuss which option is right for you.
If you're a church coordinator, it's important to have a conversation with your pastor/elders about what level of planning they're wanting you to provide for your couples. Many people don't understand there's a difference and will say "coordinator" when they mean "planner."

A coordinator, also known as a month-of or day-of coordinator, runs the rehearsal and helps manage the details on the day of the wedding. It's important to have a process in place to get all the important information from the bride's head (all the plans she's been making and conversations she's been having) so that you can take over for her on the day-of. A bride that hires a coordinator is looking for someone to run the rehearsal and day-of so that she, the bride, doesn't have to. I've never met a bride or MOB (mother of the bride) who was glad she coordinated the wedding herself.

A planner works with the bride throughout the planning process. If hired before booking the venue, the planner can be a key asset to help establish the vision, find ideal venues, and ensure important communications take place to get the contract secured. If hired after the venue is chosen, a lot of details may already be set (style, season, time, even some of the vendors) so your role is critical in helping ensure your bride's vision can be executed with some of these details in place. A bride that hires a planner is usually looking for someone who can listen to her ideas, then take over the details and vendor management so that she has nothing to worry about except enjoying her wedding day.
